When Minet and Andre Dannhauser found their idyllic Edwardian home set amid mature beech woodland in rural Essex they set about the renovation with great enthusiasm. As is the case with most period properties their initial work revealed more fundamental issues and what started out as a year-long project turned into a three-year saga!
“It was extremely frustrating. I could not wait to get on with the part that excites me most like the interior design and furnishings, but we kept getting delayed due to structural problems. The upside was that it gave me a huge opportunity to plan very carefully and choose exactly what I required in terms of functionality and style”

“I am really pleased with the result. I trusted my own instincts and am so glad I went down that path. Our bathroom is the highlight. I deliberately pared down the colours and let the products speak for themselves. I get such a sense of satisfaction when I wallow in my bath!”
